Veith - 261: Verily My Sabbaths | Clash of Minds (DVD)
Walter VeithIn comparison to the thousands of man-made laws, the 10 Commandments are brief and are so generally accepted as being reasonable that they have been incorporated in state laws throughout history. One of these laws, however, seems to be a contentious issue in our current day. Why did God give the Sabbath Commandment?
The Sabbath is a sign of allegiance to God, and when we keep the Sabbath we show that our dependence is on Him and our righteousness is by faith alone. Keeping the Sabbath is not a small issue - it’s life or death, but many do not realize this. Exodus 31:13 says, “Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.” If we choose against this ordinance, we are choosing against life.
The Bible mentions the Sabbath almost 150 times. What makes the Sabbath so important, and why is it especially important for God’s people? In Verily My Sabbaths, Walter Veith describes how keeping the Lord’s day means having a real relationship with God. Hear about the benefits of a deep and meaningful bond with our Heavenly Father, which we can only accomplish by following His divine law.
